Clinic dr. Pavan

Dr. Pavan Ophthalmology Center was founded in 2006 with the aim of providing medical services in the field of prevention and treatment of eye diseases. During that period, several thousand examinations and operations were performed on patients from all over the Republic of Croatia, mainly Karlovac, Zagreb and the Rijeka and Zadar areas, but also from abroad - primarily Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Germany, Italy and England. The Center for Ophthalmology employs or cooperates with several ophthalmologists, specialists in certain fields (e.g. pediatric ophthalmology, retinology, etc.) under the professional and organizational leadership of associate professor. Ph.D. Pavan Joška. dr. Pavan is a professor, assistant professor and principal, lecturer at several colleges and universities in the Republic of Croatia. He is the author of about fifty professional and scientific papers published in international journals, author of two university textbooks in the field of ophthalmology and co-author of another textbook of ophthalmology and the book Melanoma (Medicinska naklada, Zagreb), and translated from English the book Clinical pharmacy and therapy (Medicinska knjiga, Zagreb ). Prof. Pavan also gave dozens of lectures at congresses in Croatia and abroad. After specialization at KBC Zagreb and KB Dubrava, he spent several weeks on study visits at Clinica Puerta de Hierro in Madrid, Augenklinik der Ludwig-Maximilians Universitaet in Munich and Instituto Barraquer in Barcelona. He received his master's degree on the topic of IgG and interferon-gamma in the aqueous humor of patients with diabetes and cataracts in 1998. In 2004, he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled The influence of melanocyte-stimulating alpha hormone on the healing of the corneal epithelium . He currently holds the position of Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Dubrava Clinical Hospital in Zagreb.
